WordPress Related Posts Plugin generates related posts via the WordPress tags. It then adds the related posts to a feed which can, among things, be displayed at the bottom of all your posts. It will help keep people on your site for longer, and get more of your content viewed.

Installation and Usage:

Upload the WPRP folder to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Place in your templates
Navigate to Manage Panel > Setting > WordPress Related Posts to configure plugin output.

Thread Twitter

Twitter is not only a micrblog, but also conversation. By using Reply, you can chat with friends in Twitter. However, since Twitter doesn’t show up all the replies near the orignal tweets, it’s not convenient for user to check. For example, when there is a reply, we need to click ‘in reply to’ link in order to see the original message. If next message is still reply message, we have to continue to click for originals. It’s very inconvenient. I thus developed a Twitter plugin, which will group your Tweets and Replies together and display in the thread form. It’s so-called Thread Twitter.

Feature

Thread Twitter can fetch 3 kinds of message:

Message you send to Twitter.
The reply from follower.
Your orginal reply, and recursion until no further replies.

And then display on Wordpress page as thread form output.

Installation and usage

1. Download

2. Upload thread-twitter folder to your plugin folder

3. Activate Thread Twitter via the plugin menu

4. Go to Setting => Thread Twitter, input your Twitter account and password. If you like this plugin and wanna share with others, you can click on ‘power by Thread Twitter’.

5. Build a WordPress page template, and add following function to the template.

 thread_twitter(); ?>

6. Create a page, apply the page template just created.

7. Self-define CSS, format the page output. Here is a recommend sample. You can fine-tune according to your own theme.

Comment Reply Notification is a WordPress plugin and It is only available on WordPress 2.7.

When a reply is made to a comment the user has left on the blog, an e-mail shall be sent to the user to notify him of the reply. This will allow the users to follow up the comment and expand the conversation if desired.

Just upload to plugin folder and active it though the plugin menu on WordPress Admin.

AideRSS WordPress Plugin 0.2

Upgraded AideRSS WordPress Plugin to version 0.2, now the plugin can retrieve detail date (Diggs, Google Blog search, Comments, del.icio.us) from AideRSS API for top posts. check the demo below:

This version need your server support CURL，if not, the output result of the plugin is same as verison 0.1.

After the plugin is uploaded and actived, you can add the following function in your template:

	aide_get_top_posts('month',10);

Google PageRank for WordPress

Google PageRank for WordPress can retrieve PageRank for every post, and display the PageRank value at the end of the post’s content.

Installation and Usage

Upload the plugin to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Activate the plugin through the Plugins menu in WordPress

Top Friends 0.3

Top Friends

Top Friends is a WordPress blogroll enhancement plugin. The plugin will fetch your friends’ feeds, and then display the feed’s name and status icon base on last update time and latest two posts of the feed.

The plugin uses Google AjaxFeed API to fetch feed. ~~So it need your server can manipulate JSON format data (PHP >= 5.2).~~ The new version need’t it.

There are two options need to be setup for the plugin properly works.

Google AJAX Feed API Key is the API Key, you can apply it here.
Top Friends Feeds is the feeds that you want to fetch.

After upload and active the plugin, you can use the following function in your template.

Simple Archive

There are lots of archive plugins for WordPress, but what I use is the archive function in BLIX theme. The plugin will list posts group by months, then the archive page will be thought as a static sitemap page by Search Engineer. So it will improve the blog performance in Search Engineer.

Now I package the function to a plugin Simple Archie.

Installation and Usage

Upload plugin to directory wp-content/plugins/.
Create a Page Template
Add following code in the page template:
Upload the page template to your theme directory, and write a new page with the page template you just create.

WordPress Plugin: WP-Turbo

WP Turbo is a WordPress Plugin, which can make your blog super fast. WP Turbo can find all static files in your current theme and active plugins automatically and then store them locally with Google Gears on the visitors’ computers. After install and enable WP Turbo, all needed static files will serve directly from visitors’ computers but not your server (to be honest, they need to download them all at the first time when they visit your site). This can siginificantly reduce the page loading time, which may give your visitors better experiences.

And most of all, WP Turbo is developed by my best friend LiuYang.

Installation

Download, Unarchive, Upload and Active. There is nothing different from any other plugins.

Advanced Post Image Plugin

This is the second plugin I’ve developed. It isn’t as popular as the WordPress Related Posts plugin, but it has been downloaded over a thousand times.

The Advanced Post Images plugin can generate thumbnails of the first image of the latest (number is set by user) posts and then links back to the them.

Installation and Usage

Upload the advanced-post-image.php to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
Place in your templates
Create the folder thumb under the directory wp-content/uploads/ (set to 777)

If you want to control the number of thumbnails and the thumb image’s width and height, you can use the following four parameters in the function

$image_number = 10 // the image number, default is 10
$thumb_width = 50 // the thumb image’s width, default is 50px
$thumb_height = 50 // the thumb image’s height, default is 50px
$type = “recent“ // the list’s type, “recent” displays latest post’s image while “random” display random post’s image

You can use the ul.post-image-list CSS selector to style the images list.
